The Jerusalem Women's Film is dedicated to social issues concerning women by exposing and celebrating female directors and female driven films, both local and international. We believe that on-screen representations influence culture and our everyday life and therefore we promote gender equality and social justice by screening a large number of films representing a broad perspective of women.

In Jerusalem, female directors and creatives from all walks of life come together in solidarity. The festival’s films epitomize this variety we wish to present. For us, Jerusalem is the best place for a film festival celebrating pluralism and the embracing of women which constitutes a bridge between cultures, religions and languages. 

We focus on high-quality films and making them accessible also to marginalized populations in the city. Screenings are taking place in both East and West Jerusalem as well as in Ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods and the periphery.

The Festival was founded by the Jerusalem Filmmakers Guild, in Collaboration with the The Jerusalem Municipality.

مهرجان "أفلام نساء" المزمعة إقامته في القدس هو مهرجان سينما اجتماعية جاء لالقاء الضوء والاحتفاء بابداعات أصيلة لنساء من البلاد ومن العالم. نؤمن بأن التمثيل العادل يؤدي الى عالم فيه مساواة، كما ونريد خلق منصة احتفائية وذات جودة لسينما النساء، عن النساء وللجميع.

 

تنشط في القدس مبدعات سينمائيات من كل الأوساط، بمزيج مركب ومتنوع وأيضًا، أعلى نسبة منهن من أي منطقة أخرى من إسرائيل. تشكل أفلام المهرجان ذاتها ذلك التنوع الذي نريد أن نظهره. بالنسبة لنا، القدس هي المكان الأنسب لمهرجان سينمائي يحتفي بالتعدد الثقافي والاحتواء للنساء، ويشكل جسرًا للابداع والتضامن النسائي.

 

نؤكد على جودة الأفلام وإتاحتها لكل الأوساط في ضواحي المدينة: بالاضافة للعروض الرئيسية التي ستقام في صالات السينما المركزية في المدينة، سنقدم عرضًا مخصصًا لوسط الحريديم وعروض أخرى في أحياء شرق وغرب المدينة، وذلك رغبةً منا بالوصول الى أوساط مختلفة ومتعددة.

 

أنشئ المهرجان على يد اتحاد صناع السينما في القدس  (جمعية مسجلة) بالتعاون مع بلدية القدس.
